Sunday - Thursday
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST / 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM EST / 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM PST
Monday - Friday
9:30 AM - 6:00 PM CST / 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM EST / 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM PST
Key Responsibilities
As a Prior Authorization Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the medications they need in a timely manner. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Consulting with Physicians and Providers: Answer clinical questions, interpret guideline criteria, and make coverage determinations for prior authorization requests.
Coordinating Case Decisions: Communicate approvals or denials to physicians, health plans, employer groups, patients, and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner.
Handling Inbound Calls: Assist with escalations and inquiries from physicians, patients, and healthcare providers regarding prior authorization cases.
Building Collaborative Relationships: Establish and maintain communication with health plans, employer group staff, and other healthcare partners.
Supporting Special Projects: Participate in related projects and provide after-hours/on-call support as needed.
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
Active Pharmacist License: Must be licensed and in good standing in your state of residence.
Experience in Prior Authorization: Familiarity with prior authorization processes in a PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) or managed care environment is required.
Background in PBM, Managed Care, or VA Healthcare: Experience working in these settings will set you up for success in this role.
