The University of Mississippi's Telecommunication Center in Oxford, MS, operates an on-premises infrastructure to serve the Oxford, Tupelo, Desoto, Booneville, and Grenada campuses. Participates in the planning, design, maintenance and installation of video delivery, audio visual and classroom technology systems for the enterprise.
This position focuses on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems, including analog, digital, VoIP, and SIP technologies. Key responsibilities include configuring and supporting telecom servers, voicemail systems, unified communications platforms, and hardware.
The role also involves analyzing and optimizing system performance, coordinating installations with vendors, and providing technical guidance to staff. Additionally, it encompasses maintaining documentation and inventory while ensuring the security and efficiency of the campus infrastructure.
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Provides technical and operational technology support related to telephony, installation of outside plant fiber, structured cabling, video delivery, audio visual, classroom technology systems and network equipment.
2. Serves as main point of contact on assigned projects
3. Participates in the planning, design and installation of telecommunications, telephony, networking, audio visual and classroom technology systems for the enterprise.
4. Installs, programs and maintains telephony, video delivery, cable television and audio visual equipment
5. Works collaboratively with institutional partners.
Education: High School or Equivalent
Experience: (4) Four Years Experience
