Job Description

Special Education Teacher - Contract (on site)

Location : Private School in Newtown, Bucks County
Student Population : K-12+ (ages 6-21) with Autism & Developmental Disabilities
Schedule : Full-Time, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join a private school dedicated to helping students with autism and other developmental disabilities. In this role, you will create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, working closely with a supportive team of behavior analysts, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to provide a holistic and effective educational experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized instructional programs for students based on their needs.
  • Utilize evidence-based techniques, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), to teach academic, behavioral, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with other professionals (SLPs, OTs, Behavior Analysts) to ensure the best educational outcomes.
  • Provide a positive and structured learning environment for students with developmental disabilities.
  • Assess and track student progress and make adjustments to programs as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education (required).
  • Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification .
  • Experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
  • ABA experience is preferred but not required.
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and strong communication skills.
