The Georgetown University Thrive Center for Children, Families, and Communities and Department of Psychiatry are seeking outstanding candidates for a postdoctoral training position in Child and Family Mental Health. We are currently recruiting for Fall 2025.

The position is designed to prepare trainees for independent mental health research careers with a focus on clinical and community translational research. Training faculty have a wide breadth of domain-specific expertise with federally and foundation-funded research programs in implementation science, intervention development, health disparities, and health services/health policy related to child and family mental health, and the mental health needs of persons with developmental and other disabilities. This includes research in early childhood, early intervention, community mental health, school-based mental health, adolescent and transition-age mental health, and integrated mental health services in primary care. The program offers up to 2 years (with renewal after the first year pending satisfactory performance, and funding) of funding, competitive salary and benefits, as well as funds for travel and research support.

The Thrive Center is a local and national leader in developing and disseminating evidence-based strategies in the areas of mental health, early childhood, developmental disabilities, and cultural competence. The post-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to participate in all phases of research, from study design through manuscript preparation. There also are opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary grant writing, the development of new projects, and to mentor and teach undergraduate and graduate students. Additional opportunities for clinical training and supervision in child, adolescent, and family mental health care are available.

The projected salary pay range for this position is $60,000 - $72,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.





Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD, MD, ScD, or DrPH in psychology, counseling, medicine/psychiatry, epidemiology, health services, or other related fields with the goal of training in child and family mental health-focused research. Previous experience conducting mental health-related research is desirable but not required.
