Job Description

Organizational Development Manager (Direct Hire)

LOCATION: Precision Park on an As Needed Basis, and travel throughout San Diego County to all clinics/sites as needed)

SCHEDULE: M-F 8am-5pm (Hybrid- must be local to San Diego or willing to relocate)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Experience specifically with Organizational Development/Effectiveness
  • Excellent with Excel, Reporting, Metrics & Analysis

SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years prior professional experience leading HR programs

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Management, or other relevant degree

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • PHR/SPHR/SPHR-CA

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have excellent English speaking and writing skills

Position Summary:

The Organizational Development Manager helps SYHealth meet our Mission & organizational goals through designing and leading effective talent management processes and creating an engaging employee experience-based approach to build the capabilities of the workforce, and leads internal communications for the HR Team.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Leads the strategy, development, and scaling of talent management and engagement strategies by identifying, recommending, and implementing processes, programs and improvements in alignment with goals.
  • Leads employee engagement initiatives for the organization including the Employee Engagement Survey planning, vendor management, communications, and action planning.
  • Leads the Talent Management strategy and processes including Performance Review and Goal Planning timeline, communications, and follow up reporting. Partners with HRIS on testing and readiness of system configurations to support talent management processes.
  • Leads internal communications for the HR team. Oversees consistency of format, branding, and voice for all internal HR Communications. Partners with HR Leadership Team on planning timing of internal communications. Champions proactive, planned communications across the HR Team.
  • Leads the design and management of the Organizational Development team's performance metrics and dashboard, monitors and manages reporting.
  • Consolidates and reports on talent program activities (i.e., succession management, talent mobility, career pathing) for business leaders; presents ideas, business insight, and implementation approaches to HR leadership and business partners to increase the visibility of programs.
  • Acts as a thought partner to HR Leadership and HR Business Partners to lead efforts for programs that create and sustain career pathing so employees can grow, develop and move across the organization. Leverages internal mobility as a resource to continuously create new opportunities for employees to gain exposure, capabilities, and maximize the employee experience.
  • Collaborates with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and HR Business Partners to understand & assess development needs, skills gaps, design and implement development paths that build workforce capabilities for SYHealth.
  • Partners in the development and delivery of internal training to on topics related to talent development.

Job Requirements

Education Required (Minimum level of education):

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Management, or other relevant degree.

Experience Required (Minimum level of experience):

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources.

Experience Preferred:

  • 3+ years prior professional experience leading HR programs.

Certifications Preferred:

  • PHR/SPHR/SPHR-CA

Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job:

  • Must have excellent English speaking and writing skills.
  • Must be proficient in making group presentations.

Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:

  • Must be knowledgeable of State and Federal employment law.
  • Proficient with generating metrics, reports, etc.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives at once and lead teams from initiation to completion of large-scale projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders across various levels and functions.
  • Ability to work with grace under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Equipment Used:

  • Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio. HR Information system.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Office work and occasional travel required.
