Business Development Manager
We're looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and nurturing ongoing relationships with existing clients. As the main point of contact for both new and assigned clients, you will provide exceptional service, advocate for client needs, and ensure top-notch service and quality. Building strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders will be a central part of your role, helping to drive repeat and new business opportunities.
This is a remote position with national travel required as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate New Business: Proactively identify and qualify new clients and markets to drive strategic revenue growth.
Build & Maintain Client Relationships: Establish and nurture strong client relationships, ensuring continued business and alignment with company objectives.
Sales Cycle Leadership: Serve as the primary liaison between clients and the company, managing the entire sales cycle—from prospecting to closing sales. Ensure ongoing client satisfaction and retention by supporting post-sale implementation and collections when necessary.
Collaborative Account Management: Work closely with internal teams to meet client needs and deliver superior service, providing leadership in client account management.
Achieve Sales Goals: Meet or exceed sales quotas for new and designated existing clients. Attend client meetings, events, and industry networking opportunities, which may require travel.
Sales Reporting: Prepare sales prospecting and development reports (including qualification notes, account updates, and other requested reports) and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
Pricing & Contracts: Provide pricing quotes and credit terms, preparing sales contracts as needed.
Lead Generation: Build a list of potential new clients using a variety of resources and methods.
Team Collaboration: Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative team-selling approach when applicable.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Participate in the budgeting process for existing accounts and help project revenue for new clients.
Client Documentation: Ensure required client documents are obtained and processed for timely invoicing.
Client Needs Assessment: Lead the discovery process with clients to identify and define key needs, including project scopes, performance metrics, invoicing requirements, payment terms, and other critical details.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should have a proven track record in consultative sales, ideally with a background in the retail/commercial construction or related industries (such as commercial signage, fixtures, or lighting). The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications:
Experience: At least 5 years of consultative sales experience, with a preference for those in retail/commercial construction or similar fields.
Travel: Willingness to travel nationwide as needed.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction, field practices, codes, and procedures.
Self-Starter: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative to drive results.
Sales Expertise: Advanced skills in relationship building, negotiation, and closing sales.
Organizational & Communication Skills: Strong organizational abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve complex problems with limited standardization.
Time Management: Advanced time management and organizational skills.
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Construction, or a related field is preferred.

Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with arms, and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
